As it has always been. That’s why I never pursued mine. Though I did consider a tangental one back in the 90s, though family stuff pretty much quashed that.

I got mine. It’s complicated. It took a chunk of my life, and I had to do many jobs until I got full-time, so it has set me back financially some. I started late after being a high school teacher for a few years. If I had stayed on that path…. Well, it’s complicated, as I said. Life would have been different, but not necessarily better. I never recommend going for a PhD these days, as hypocritical as that sounds.
