There were parts of AIG that were profitable….it is a large company. Those bonuses were contracted for individuals that met a criteria….good job performance.
Maybe the company needed to go under…but since it is still operating and honoring its contracts, those who produced should be paid. Do you know how many will be paid under that 165 million $? Is it one? Or is it 165,000? or is it 165 million getting a dollar a piece?
Do you seriously want to award bonuses to the company with the largest corporate loss in history? Oh and another small thing they have borrowed another 150 billion dollars to stay afloat? Are you serious?
