Its not just DNA, its mitochondrial DNA, which really does form an exactly copy from the Mother, as the one from the sperm dies when it hits the egg. But as always a mutation sometimes happens, and therefore you can track it exactly where it goes.

Exactly. The BBC did an excellent series recently about the evolution and migration of human beings out of Africa called “Mans Incredible Journey”. I recommend it if you haven’t seen it already. Debunks a number of myths along the way including the Chinese theory that they (the Chinese) are genetically distinct from the rest of humanity, and the theory that Europeans are genetically distinct because of the input of (don’t laugh now) Neanderthal genes. Interestingly, some racists still cling to that last one. Gotta get their genetic specialness from somewhere/
