My RWNJ friend up in Oregon would consider the scenario laid out in “The Handmaid’s Tale” to be nothing less than Heaven on Earth.

Scary part is, my friend is a woman. In my view, she’s been utterly brainwashed by the evangelical church she attends. Now mind you, she doesn’t want to be a Handmaid……she’d rather be a Wife. Most likely, an Econowife.

A common ailment here in fish country. My family lives very near the Amish sector, and women are expected to be meek and feminine and not “uppity”. It came as somewhat of a shock when I married a beautiful and bold woman of the North. They grow ‘em a little differently up in the wild north country.
