They’re almost done west of Binghamton. I think there is a single 3-4 mile stretch near Elmira still under conversion. I have been following that progress year-to-year since that is one of my potential driving routes between here and my brother’s place.

The never-ending construction project on one of the other routes is I-80. Especially the Susquehanna River bridges.

At some scale roads, railroads and river navigation all become organic—the need to replace dead tissues is part of the life process.
