re: #185 teleskiguy

With subsidies through Connect For Health Colorado, I pay a $275 monthly premium for the Bronze Plan (the cheapest they got) that I can barely afford, all because I live in a county with world class skiing. I would be paying about $80/month if I still lived in Denver. It’s a real problem that will get much worse. If the ACA is gutted my premiums are expected to skyrocket, more than I pay for rent. At that point I’ll probably forego health insurance and maybe stop skiing and riding my bike because it’s too risky.

You know a lot of people will be making decisions like that. And those are going to hurt the economy.

I don’t think the Republicans understand how everything all works in unison. I would bet good healthcare in this country would be good for business of all kinds.

And of course we can’t forget all the people in healthcare that are very concerned about what the current GOP healthcare thinking will do to their industry. That’s going to cost a lot of jobs.

But as many keep saying, the bad that will come of it may be needed before people understand.

I really do not get how fucking up the economy with bad bad healthcare policy and tax cuts for the rich meaning less money for everyone else is going to help business at all. It seems very short sighted.
