I once ignored a third-party federal subpoena in a civil case with no repercussions. That’s because the cheap-ass Church of Scientology expected me to show up without paying the required witness fee. After checking, this essentially rendered the subpoena invalid. So I said nothing (so as not to give them the opportunity to cure their mistake) and didn’t show for the deposition. Nothing happened.
