This idea of determent is moronic.

They don’t really want to actually deter illegal immigration. Not in the sense of actually preventing it. The thing they want to deter is the presumption of humanity toward brown people in general. They want to make it clear we’re animals to be detained, restrained, and exterminated, not human beings to be treated with actual rights.
