Just to put nicotine’s toxicity in perspective its LD50 is about the same as arsenic, heroin, and meth.

What I find myself thinking about is arsenic eaters and Mithradatism.

Consistent ingestion of the poison means tolerance, and thus less symptoms that rise to the level of pathology…but the presence of the poison is still messing up the tissues and organs they’re in primary contact with, meaning that there’s a bill that wil come due.
