Greg Sargent makes an argument that the Republicans will not vote to allow witnesses, because what comes in the future in the way of additional revelations, is less bad than taking the flack for blocking evidence now.

Wouldn’t it be likelier to be the other way round? That more revelations (no matter how much the GOP are going to ignore/disparage/deny them) are just going to make the Senate (and House) look worse for trying to cover them up now?
