Because on this type of issue Newt is liable be clear-thinking and he really does care about getting things done. He’s not Sarah Palin; he actually does think about policy and its implications.

Newt was talking about how America cannot figure out the Middle East. He said we have been active in the ME since 1979 (Iran). He went about how we have a hard time with people killing each other over religion and how we see groups band together and then turn on each other making it very hard to know who to back.

I will give Gingrich credit. He wasn’t too into digging on Obama other than to say he wasn’t strong enough last week and he will definitely need to make a hell of a speech to sway the public on Tuesday night.

By the way, Chuckles Todd said he fears that Obama will not get the house vote.
