For diversion, a Website that memorialises dummies who don’t understand the laws of physics:

11 Foot 8 is a Website dedicated to a particular railroad trestle at that height.

The site contains numerous videos of people trying to drive vehicles (such as the one linked above) taller than that under the bridge. (Hint: the bridge always wins.)

The owner of the site has a business on the corner next to the trestle, and convinced another business across the streetcorner to allow him to put in another camera to get another angle of trucks, motor homes, and other vehicles being peeled open or otherwise destroyed when they go under the trestle.

He notes several trucking companies use his videos as safety training lectures on low clearance.

Never understood that. I’ve had to make some enormous backtracks to avoid such when pulling a standard 13’ 9” high trailer. They’re well marked and, as you said, the trailer won’t win. Hell, some tractors wont win at 11’ 8”!
