Rachel is missing a big point of the 1924 Immigration Act. While it banned Asians and created quotas for immigrants from specific countries, it had no limit on immigrants from?…south of the border.

I think about the 1924 Immigration Act a lot since it was targeted at people like my mom’s grandparents. Mom’s grandparents were all here by then fortunately but my mom’s maternal grandmother as she was my great grandfather’s second wife emigrated last. My family’s emigration ranges from Washington’s first term to 1921 or if you want to include my SiL’s family in my lifetime. All that has given me a lot to think about my family and emigration.
