I think a lot of them are honestly unaware of the role that unions have had in forming the modern American middle class. I get that unions have problems. Corruption for starters. I’m reasonably pro union but I understand why Unions aren’t as supported as much as they were when my grandfather worked for the NLRB. I still see a place for them in the economy though.

Unions are large organizations. They have problems of large organizations. They have inefficiencies that are built in BECAUSE they are large organizations. They also have weaknesses as large organizations because they are in opposition to other large organizations, i.e., corporations who hire union members.
