I visited with my sister and bil a couple weeks ago. I wouldn’t go inside the house and I kept my distance while we talked outside. My sister talked a lot about visiting with her son, dil and grandkids and going out to dinner with them and it was kind of freaking me out because it sounded like they weren’t too worried about distancing. When they started handing me their cell phones to show me pictures of the grandkids I felt like it was time to leave. I keep a bottle of hand sanitizer with me so I used it generously after I left their house. Like you, I notice that many large family groups don’t feel the need to distance at all.

I will confess to seeing my brother and sister-in-law without masks. They aren’t entirely hermits, but don’t go out doing stupid things. My daughter’s family? We mask. We stay outside 95% of the time. My son? Facetime, as he is a bit farther away.

No one needs to be 100% perfect, but we need to be careful.
