re: #194 Dangerman

i am probably extreme in this.
i see almost no ‘voluntary’ activity as worth the risk - whether to the virus itself or as you say, the reactions of others.

we are fortunate. there’s not much we do, or did ‘out’
my entire extended family all work from home.
we miss dining out but only a little - take out has worked well for us for a year because it’s mostly about the food. only some about the ambiance and service.
we dont do sports, bars, amusement parks, beaches and the like
months at a time on the road motorcycling is behind me now.
we have a pond.
mrsdm does miss her parents - it’s been 2 years. and after she gets shot #2 we will carefully pilgrimage up to NJ.

No, you’re not being extreme at all. We’ve been pretty much doing the same. My partner played in her volleyball league for the first time in over a year this week. She was one of the first to bail when it was clear COVID was a genuine threat.

Her other league mates, not so much. There were a couple of mini COVID rampages among the teams until they started taking this shit seriously.

Feel you on the in-laws thing. Her folks are in SC and are getting older with various health issues that could go haywire any minute.

I doubt I’ll go to a game. Between COVID and the Phils most likely being the same train wreck they were last year, it’s not worth the risk.
