I was privileged once to attend a service of a Church of God with Signs and Wonders (commonly called “snake-handlers”) congregation.

Mysticism is everywhere - we understand and appreciate the ecstatic practices of shamans in the Amazon, but look down our collective noses at such things when our own neighbors are involved. A peculiarity of Man’s disposition - we are more open to the strange than to the familiar.

I’m OK with both, but while the team prays over your possessed classmate, the prudent thing to do is to call the ambulance, lest it just be a psychotic break.
