True. I think it was someone else here who said, “A con man doesn’t need to be a genius - just smarter than the people he’s trying to con.”

A smart man will probably reject doing something like grifting and conning. They would see it as below them and below the use of their intelligence. Morals and high standards would get in the way.

A man that isn’t all that smart will not have any filters and will sometimes do what is necessary to get by.

And like dangerman said, a really smart criminal isn’t going to have the trail that Trump seems to have and they wouldn’t have a stiff like “Who says” Cohen keeping all the records that could bring them down.

Is having a Cohen as your law hack smart?

Is it smart to be so tied to the Russians?

And would good lawyers refuse to work with a smart man?
