re: #176 Jay C

Wouldn’t we all?
But, unfortunately, highly unlikely:

1. Harrison seems like a smart guy and all, and a decent-enough candidate, but he has never held or run for any political office before: a statewide Senate race doesn’t usually make for a good maiden run.

2 (most importantly) It’s South Carolina. Though in this case, it’s more partisan than racial.

Be interesting to see SC having two bald black guys representing them in the Senate, but unseating Lindsey is probably too much to hope for. This time.

Graham doesn’t appear to be too popular with SC Republicans. Wikipedia shows a poll from June where he was getting just 70% in a primary challenge, with 26% undecided. It also looks like there’s going to be some sort of loon third party challenger out of the Libertarian and/or Constitution Party, which will only hurt Graham in the general.

And that June poll also showed him only at 52% against Harrison… which yeah, is a clean majority, but you’d expect him to be higher, given how long he’s been in office.
