It’s one of those things that sounds great on paper, but for people north of 35 degrees N, the complaints that would start up as soon as people realize they’ll never see a summer sunset after 8 PM (but hey, they’ll have sunrise at 3:45 AM!) would be loud and persistent.

Year-round DST might go over a little better, but sunrise at 9 AM won’t be welcome in the northern winter, either.

I remember when DST was extended in 1974 by Nixon. They gave us these little reflective white dot stickers to put on our parkas so we wouldn’t get run over by snowplow as we walked to school on those dark and cold ND winter mornings.
