I was reading an article this morning about jobs and no one to fill them. Turns out that those stories of people like me who have filled out hundreds of applications and not got so much as a response of any sort are because of freaking algorithms that look for key words in your resume and applications. Chances are a human never sees them. Which is fucked up and stupid. You can’t tell a person’s experience or life skills from an online form. You surely can’t determine their fit for your workplace without even speaking to them over the damned phone. Also, why in the actual fuck do you need a fucking resume for a entry level or part time retail job?
