re: #187 Alouette
Years ago, I had to attend a mandatory “diversity sensitivity seminar” for Ford employees. We had to sit through several videos showing “what to do” “what not to do.”
What I remember is that non-kosher snacks were served. Orthodox Jews (there were a few of us at Ford) were not mentioned in the videos, although there were skits about vegetarians and Muslims who don’t eat pork. In the skit showing a gay man harrassed by a homophobe, the actress playing the homophobe was African-American.
This was about 10 years ago.
If I ever am required to attended so-called “sensitivity training”, I hope I’m in good enough financial shape to quit then and there. I don’t think I could stand the insult, taking time away from work to sit in a seminar room, while a total stranger puts on a dog & pony show telling me my mama didn’t raise me right.
