I’m not disputing those things. I’m saying that media coverage of the murder that focuses on the fact that the victim hosted a hunting show and was killed with a gun seems to many pro-gun people intended to emphasize an ‘evil gun’ theme sometimes seen in the media. I myself believe that the lesson of the story is the perils of wronging others as grievously as he did.

Adultery is also disobeying God, in my eyes. I’m noy saying the law should account for that last; it shouldn’t. But that does influence how I regard a man who cuckolds another man.

How about being true to one’s word?

What about simple respect for the person to whom you gave that word.

If a persons’s word is so worthless, one has to resort to “G-d” clearly, that person is not a candidate for marriage.
