I clearly recall seeing women involved in the Civil Rights Movement, and they weren’t all black, either. As a little black girl at the time, I can remember how proud I was to see white nuns working on behalf of the movement.
They can never be fully repaid because they had the courage to put their own lives in danger for what they believed was right—that all are created equal.
