Please forgive the ‘Gamergate’ joke, but I felt it appropriate because it comes back to the same point as that now-receding imbroglio: Men in a computer-tech field who go bonkers when they get criticized by a woman. Misogyny is both ugly and stupid.

Actually, you’re rising a good point. They both have uncomfortable parallels, which makes me wonder if the Gamergate/Michael revengefulness is more widespread than this.
