If you look at the history of the Christian Reconstructionism/Dominionist movement, you will see that what is happening now at a national level, was planned LONG ago, during the Reagan years, and in the past decade is really coming into fruition. The groundwork for this was implemented by groups like Pat Robertson’s ‘Christian Coalition’, and was then expanded upon by their bringing what were once considered fringe groups (see SPLC entries on Liberty Lobby, Focus on the Family/Family Research Council, and the American Family Association) into the mainstream of the Republican Party.

These groups have been very careful in not mentioning their affiliation with the Reconstructionists, whose founders did a bit more than dip their toes into the white supremacy movement, including Holocaust denial, and advocacy for returning to slavery,
