But one of the consequences may be that Al Franken is no longer an effective advocate for his party’s cause. So far, I approve of the way he is handling the matter, but he’s damaged now. I remember wondering if I might find myself with an opportunity to vote for him for POTUS at some time in the future. I doubt that’s possible now, and I regret that, because I could have gotten behind him. We will have to see how this matter continues to develop and how he handles it in the future, but I suspect his star will fade.
