To trivialize what happened in Mississippi is not only an attempt to rewrite history, but to further dehumanize Blacks and their struggle to find equality. It’s particularly insidious when done by the Governor of MS in 2010.

Youtube has a lot of good videos on Freedom Summer, the movement in the early 60s to get Blacks to vote in Mississippi. This one, in particular, has a cameo of Judge Tom Brady of the Citizens Council stating he doesn’t want Negros “as a class to control the making of the law that controls me. That controls the government in which I live.”
