He’s absolutely right on radical Islamists. But he heaps them in with anyone else who happens to be Muslim, which is untrue and unfair. There are some pretty dark and scary places in the bible, too, but that doesn’t mean every Christian follows the Old Testament, or that every religious person is a fundamentalist.

Fundies of any flavor are worthy of scorn and mocking, in my book. They’re a fucking boil on the ass of humanity. But that doesn’t mean every religious person is a fundie; in fact, fundies are the statistical minority. This is where Mayer can’t keep his venom in check.
