I agree, this is ugly & awful from every angle, and it seems the ongoing conflict spawns increasingly more radical & violent groups.

I’m at a loss to understand why “civilian” outsiders get involved. I realize they must feel they’re helping in some way, but they’re obviously in way over their heads and don’t fully understand the forces at work, otherwise I would think they’d stay out of it. Still, I’ve never been there, so I’m just guessing.

It’s depressing that there’s no end in sight.
