I guess I really don’t think that the Xerox Interlisp/Smalltalk derived windows and desktop environment has run it’s course. While taking over the whole screen on something small like a phone or a pad is appropriate, to a degree, I don’t think is a good thing for a primary environment. I usually have a half dozen apps and up to 2 dozen tabs open in my browser at any given time.

I have even less interest in the whole idea of the cloud. I want my data on my hardware at my physical location. Connecting to and working with, as well as sharing my own resources, are what remains the best use of the network. Companies die or decide that you no longer “own” what you bought no matter how much you paid. Nope. No “cloud” for me.
