This is a clip of a comment by a reader on the WAPO web site in response to the article. It is very well put:

If one is opposed to excessive access/influence by lobbyists regardless of which party controls the White House and/or which party represents you in Congress, tell them to change. Wasn’t that long ago there was a scandal about the guy (Abramoff?) who took DeLay on golfing trips overseas, etc. Those who disapproved of that activity should also be questioning the activity raised in the Post’s article. Those who didn’t object to those activities, shouldn’t be critical of the Obama White House now. If elected officials are embarrassed by the public knowing the details, maybe they shouldn’t be in those meetings. If elected officials have time for all those lobbyists, maybe they could halve those meetings and substitute meetings with constituents to obtain a better appreciation as to what the citizens feel.
