Why do Conservatives play rock songs by artists that are on record as being against their ideology?

There are plenty of country music artists who would not mid a bit.

Because they don’t have a clue about music. They zoom in on a certain artist or lyric and it’s: “Hey, that works, we’ll use that!”

But they usually fail to consider the context of the song or the political leanings of the singer.

A classic example was Ronald Reagan wanting to use “Born in the U.S.A.” Not only is the song NOT the patriotic song suggested by the title, the singer is also a known Democratic supporter.

But the GOP didn’t have a clue and were at one time hopeful that Springsteen would endorse Reagan.
