LOL. That’s even worse. It’s hard to imagine a more fucked up customer service situation. You can always get people on a flight to give up their seat if you offer them enough. In this case their internal calculus figured that the dragging someone off was cheaper than just negotiating, and now they’ve got a PR disaster, a personal injury and (possibly) a civil rights lawsuit on their hands.

They offered $800 to get off, but no one was taking it. They still should have found other arrangements for their employees.
