I have an idea for a story: We’ve developed the technology of time travel to the point that we can use machines to make all 24 strips from near the north pole of the earth to the south pole be exactly at the same time. I’m trying to work out some kind of kink that throws things into disarray.

The biggest kink is going to be that travel across time zones is going to make duplicates of yourself. If you take a trip across three time zones, you’ll have two duplicates, and they could both appear before you even began your trip.
