So today begins the hysteria about the “first four” primaries, in 4 states that have a total population of @ 12.7 million (under 4% of the US population), represent 25 total electoral votes, and only two of which are even moderately competitive in the presidential election (NH and NV.)
Not sure about the others, but I can tell you that here in SC, while they swarm like locusts before the primaries, not a single candidate will set foot in the state from then on until the general election.
It’s such a farce.
It is, which is what makes the whole “ZOMG! If we abolish the Electoral College, then candidates will only focus on states with huge populations!” bit such a fraking joke.
