PTSD was not well talked about or treated until the 1990s - we are just recently really talking about it now in the 21st century.

We have just now given it a name. It’s been talked about for a long time before that, it was called a lot of different things. The idea that people come back mentally wrecked from war is definitely not something that’s only been acknowledged since the 1990s. If nothing else, Vietnam certainly vaulted it into national consciousness. It’s what Rambo is about, for chrissakes.
