I wasn’t aware until today that Jim Bob was a state representative in Arkansas from 1999-2002. Wasn’t it 2002 when Josh got in trouble? I would imagine that having recently served as a politician Jim Bob would’ve been able to pull some strings. Also interesting are the committees he served on:

83rd General Assembly > Regular Session, 2001

Vice Chair: Judiciary - House Corrections & Criminal Law Subcommittee
Judiciary Committee - House
Insurance & Commerce - House
Insurance & Commerce - House Insurance Subcommittee
Non-Voting: State Agencies & Govt’L Affairs - House
Alternate: Legislative Council Alternates

82nd General Assembly > Regular Session, 1999

Vice Chair: Judiciary Committee - House
Vice Chair: Judiciary - House Courts & Civil Law Subcommittee
Vice Chair: City, County & Local Affairs Committee - House
Vice Chair: City, County & Local Affairs - House Planning Subcommittee
ex officio: Education Committee - House

Additionally, he was the primary or co-sponsor on a LOT of bills during his two terms. I won’t post them as the lists are too long and the page they’re on also lists his address & phone number. They’ve probably changed since then, but nonetheless I don’t want to run afoul of the LGF rules.

The Arkansas State Legislature’s website is not at all intuitive or user friendly, but once you figure out how it works you can find what you need. If you want to go digging yourself, starting here will save you a little time.
