What this is now is the “it’s not the message, it’s the messenger” excuse-making that happens after every election. That Bernie didn’t fail because his message is without substance and too far past what most people are comfortable with, it’s that he wasn’t the messenger that the progressives wanted in the first place. They wanted Warren, but they had to settle for Bernie.

That rather puts the lie to the months of insisting that the “revolution” was here, millions of Americans liked what Bernie was selling, and they’d run anybody who opposed out of Congress at the first opportunity.
