Been hearing more about the actual Trump Cult, the rapidly spreading belief among evangelicals that Trump was literally chosen by God to be some kind of savior.
It occurred to me that veteran Russian operatives, those with Cold War experience, must have been amazed, not to mention delighted, at how easy it was to buy off and otherwise compromise Bible thumpers. Compared to the kind of hard-sell marks they targeted in the Cold War, journalists, academics, labor activists, etc. the thumpers were not just willing whores, they were cheap ones.
