Bernie, at least, has policies that track with Democratic policy goals. She’s running as a Blue Dog in a very blue seat in NY, and her book foreword screams Republican lite? What the fuck is that?

She’s assuming that low turnout primary will help elect her, especially among residents who might have supported Crowley but didn’t vote. Of course, the turnout will be much higher because it’s a presidential year and there is a hotly contested race for the Democratic nominee. But as a native Chicagoan, I remember the bleak year that Larouchies captured a couple positions in the Democratic primary because voters opposed to the establishment candidates were never informed by the media who the challengers were. (I didn’t vote for those positions because I didn’t know anything about these candidates and had learned years earlier not to vote for people as a protest unless you really knew who they were)
