Meanwhile, the extremists are showing up to post at the end of earlier threads, as they always do. There’s some kind of weird impulse that drives these people to try to get the last word, after the discussion has dwindled out and everyone else has moved on. They seem to believe that if they get that one last comment, their views will somehow be validated.

Charles, due to my daily schedule I rarely have a lot of free time available to browse past the high points of your excellent daily threads, so a certain portion of my posts end up at the tail end of the earlier threads simply because I don’t have all day every day to continually follow the threads in real-time, like many ‘regulars’ seem to be doing. Hope this circumstance doesn’t tag me with that ‘extremist’ label…
