That’s totally pointless without having 2/3 in the Senate to convict. Senate Republicans are so spiteful that they are 100% certain to not convict if a D-controlled House does the impeachment, and only 99.9999% to not convict if an R-controlled House does the impeachment.

The real reason to hope for the Democrats to win the House in 2018 is simply to end total R control of Congress.

The real reason is that with a dem majority we can have real investigations with real subpoena powers. We will need a smoking gun perhaps several to get the 2/3 necessary for impeachment.
