I like Marx’s observations and some of his specific points; he’s also the jump-off point for ideas and terms that influence thinkers I really like.

But Marxism has acquired a belief system component that is partly his fault, since he put his prescriptive work in the category of verified-as-scientific—capital-T True—rather than as a theoretical structure.
