Which makes the order of votes tomorrow even more perplexing. Why give the clean CR a vote after the Trump CR? That’s handing his own senators a way out of this when the Trump CR collapses and/or fails to meet cloture.

Moreover, he gave any/all Democrat senators justification to vote against the Trump CR right off the bat.

The ultimate goal is to have a campaign issue to run on. They’re starting to get hammered on the shutdown, but they have to make Democrats look bad. So, force a vote on the item that won’t pass, watch it fail, and then pass the measure that will.

1. Watch for the Republicans that vote for both. Those are the opportunists that really should be targeted by Democrats.
2. Watch Coulter and Rush scream.
