There’s a reason that it takes months or years for the FDA to approve a drug/procedure for usage, and it’s not because (as wingnuts currently believe) they want to hurt Donny’s approval polls. Untested drugs have the potential for all sorts of side-effects while totally failing to live up to the promises/expectations of the manufacturers. Procedures that haven’t been rigorously tested may maim or kill patients needlessly for no appreciable gain.

We don’t go chasing down blind alleys in the hopes that we’ll stumble across a cure-all, since most civilized nations decided ages ago that human experimentation for the sake of experimenting is not something they wish to be associated with.

And then the drug manufactures promote them for off-label use and get people killed/injured and end up paying through the nose for it.
