My point is just that the court is going to have to get pretty explicit in its ruling.

And the problem is that this isn’t what SCOTUS typically does. So they’re probably going to void Gamble’s federal conviction and wash their hands of the whole deal. They’re going to say shit like pardons aren’t in front of them right now so fuck it who cares, leaving the courts to read tea leaves and try to figure out exactly what this does and doesn’t mean going forward.
