But much of the post-explosion inept response is Obama’s responsibility. It was BP’s rig that blew up and sank, but it was Obama’s federal apparatus that failed to recognize and react to a massive problem that would grow only bigger with inattention. And it was Obama’s scattershot, improvisational response that made him look more inept each day.

Obama’s problem is his background. He has never run anything except a campaign; never operated a company, never been a CEO. He cannot lead because he is not a leader. He’s an academic seminar facilitator. Notice his frequent references to “…experts in academia…” and his energy secretary Steven Chu who “…won a Nobel prize.” Obama is a collegiate propeller-head most comfortable in a room full of other propeller-heads. Solving problems is not their goal; talking about solving problems is. The meeting becomes the solution, an end in itself.
