If they don’t have enough evidence to charge him, they can hold him at most for forty-eight hours. That’s all there is to it. Unless you’re saying he should be committed, which is a pretty dangerous road.

Well, I believe he certainly meets the criterion of being a threat to himself and others. What kind of freak thinks he needs to chase strangers out of his neighborhood after dark, and furthermore thinks he needs to pack heat while doing it?

If Florida can’t figure out how to prosecute this loser, I hope the feds step in. The guy deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison. I have a teenage son who likes to stroll down to Sonic late at night to buy a slush or an ice cream sometimes…if we had a 7/11 close, he’d go there. I just can’t believe this story—in 2012, in the USA, a kid got killed with skittles and iced tea because he was black.
