Pope Francis is not an asshole. If you read his whole statement, its clear he wasn’t justifying the Charlie Hebdo attack. His problem is that he doesn’t speak fluent soundbyte.

And that is the general problem with Twitter: it is fine for letting people know what you are up to, be it hanging with homies or out dodging bullets and tear gas canisters, but it is useless for a nuanced debate of complex issues.
